Eric Holmes Ready to Run Final Southwest Series Race at "99" Linda Hamilton/Beebe Racing Enterprises - Jul 13, 2006
Eric Holmes has his wrecked car from Altamont fixed and ready to head to Stockton “99” this weekend. The NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series is running for the final time at the historic quarter-mile track. Stockton “99” has hosted 24 Southwest Series races since the series was formed in 1986.
Eric has finished in the top five 3 times in four races at “99” including one win in 2004, in the Southwest Series division. Last year Eric ran a limited number of races in this series, but he did run at “99” and finished sixth. This season he is running two divisions, (Southwest Series and the Grand National West Series) full time. He is running third in both series’ point standings. In the Southwest Series, Eric is only 16 points out of first and only 6 points out of second. Eric’s goal is to win the final Southwest Series Championship and to run in the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown, which he won in 2004. If he continues to finish races as he has this season, Eric will be running the Toyota Showdown in both series’; nobody has accomplished this since the Showdown was formed in 2003.
The AutoZone “100” presented by Havoline is race #5 of 9 for the 2006 season.
This weekend Saturday July 15
The Southwest Series will practice between 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
