Eric Holmes started second next to Peyton Sellers in the NASCAR Grand National West Series, Bi-Mart Firecracker “150” at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon on Saturday July 1st. Holmes and Sellers swapped the lead a few times and were the only two leaders of the race. On a re-start, while Peyton was leading and Eric running second, Mike David got under Eric and took over second position. Eric, even though he had a faster car than Mike, could not get a clean pass on him. They finished with Peyton winning followed by Mike David and Eric in third.

After the race Eric and his BRE crew had to quickly pack up and head home where they had to get ready for the NASCAR Southwest Elite Series race at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, CA. Eric has been running full time in both divisions this 2006 season.

The next NASCAR Grand National West Series race will be held on July 22 at Irwindale Speedway.
