Disappointing Day at Infineon for Holmes Linda Hamilton/Beebe Racing Enterprises - Jun 25, 2006
Escalon’s Eric Holmes had a good start on Friday at Infineon Raceway, he posted the fastest lap in the final practice of the day. Then he went on to qualify second with a lap time of 78.847. Brian Vickers won the pole with a lap of 78.836.
Saturday was a different story, Eric started having problems with the car during the first lap of the race. He started slipping back in the field while he and his crew were trying to figure out why the car was losing power. Eric ended up having several mechanical problems that would put him 10 laps down and finishing 25th.
Eric remains to hold 3rd place in the point standings, with only eleven points out of second and sixteen points out of first in the NASCAR Grand National West Series.
The next event for the Grand National West will be held this weekend July 1st, in Roseburg, Oregon.
